From his childhood flavored with duck to the opening of the first restaurant in Lyon, Hugues Chazottes carries on the family heritage rooted in the South-West of France, a true land of gastronomy! It was there that his uncle and aunt, artisan canners and co-founders of Maison Argaud, passed on to young Hugues their passion for duck breast – a precious delicacy that we celebrate here all year long, with generosity, simplicity, and traditional know-how.
And in the South-West, when we love, we share! Driven by this desire to bring the love of fine products to as many people as possible, Hugues created Copain Comme Canard: a table for good friends, food lovers, and epicureans, with a festive, free-spirited, slightly cheeky, and always delicious atmosphere!

In a city where pork is king, it took boldness to take on the challenge of putting duck in the spotlight! But that didn’t stop Hugues Chazottes, a child of the South-West, raised on grilling duck breasts and slices of rillettes and foie gras, from opening Copain Comme Canard. His goal: to share the love of authentic terroir flavors and the pleasure of welcoming guests with sincerity and conviviality – like friends gathered around large tables, with laughter echoing all around.
