Where to sit on a terrace in Lyon?
There’s nothing better than a sunny lunch on a terrace to properly celebrate the return of warmer days! At Copain Comme Canard, we love making the most of spring’s beautiful light to enjoy delicious dishes and sip a cocktail while basking in the sun. So come visit us at our two Lyon locations! And because we’re nice, we’re also sharing a few tips to help you explore the neighborhoods where terraces come back to life from May 1st onward. The perfect way to recharge before summer!
At Copain Comme Canard, of course!
Our two outdoor spots in Lyon offer the perfect setting for a moment of relaxation and pure enjoyment — a treat for both the eyes and the taste buds!
On Rue de la Bourse, the spacious terrace, naturally shaded by lush vegetation at the foot of the Palais de la Bourse, sets the tone for carefree apéritifs, meals, and events. The pedestrian square ensures tranquility in an elegant setting, thanks to the surrounding architecture. A beautiful way to celebrate spring the way it deserves!
On Rue de la Part-Dieu, it’s all about gentle living and intimacy. The outdoor terrace of our restaurant provides a calm, serene, and peaceful atmosphere just steps from the Rhône — the perfect place to savor small and large delights inspired by the South-West, enjoy a house cocktail, and soak in the festive spirit that comes with it!

And otherwise, in Lyon?
Around Place Bellecour, terraces are everywhere! You’ll be spoiled for choice when it comes to finding a spot for a drink or a meal, while enjoying the lively atmosphere of this square — the 4th largest in France — which regains its vibrant colors at the start of spring.
Along the riverbanks, numerous waterside bars and guinguettes offer the perfect setting to meet outdoors and make the most of the good weather, as do the barges moored along the Rhône and Saône.

Vieux Lyon, the historic district…
In the narrow streets of this district, terraces are everywhere. Nestled between Fourvière Hill and the Saône River, this historic area is well worth a visit — and even more — to explore its must-see landmarks and soak up its unique atmosphere.
